Archive for April, 2021

We’ve had two freeze events in April, and both caused damage to the total crop.  However I estimate at least 60% of a crop is left.  There are some varieties with significant damage, but I find variations of live fruit from tree to tree.  We have also been dry for the last three weeks.  This is good for peaches because disease pressure is low.  We have begun thinning the fruit where we feel confidant there is little damage.  Apples appear to have a fair crop and blueberries about half a crop.  Check back later for more farm news.

There was some freeze damage to the crop on the morning of April 3rd, but I believe we still have 70% of a crop.  It will take a week or so to actually determine the damage.  We are spraying for disease and insect control and we are also working on irrigation lines.  It would be nice to stay dry for a couple of more weeks to aid in disease control.  Check back later for more farm news.
