FARM UPDATE-2020 was a good peach year.  Although, it was about  a half of a crop, the demand was good.  The biggest problem was some spot on the late varieties which is a result of an early bloom followed by wet conditions.  It is not peach scab, but bacterial spot disease.  There are some sprays we use early to minimize it, but there is no complete cure.  Hopefully we will bloom later and have a drier spring in 2021.  The apple crop was the best in years and lasted into November.  We are pruning and applying weed control at this time.  For those of you with backyard orchards I would wait until February to prune.  Check back later for more farm news.
